Preparing For a Chemical Peel

Getting ready for a chemical peel is a fairly simple process. The first step is to determine which strength of peel is right for you, which is established during a Cosmetic Consultation. At this visit, one of our cosmetic professionals provides a full assessment and a detailed care plan, including pre-and post-care instructions. A skincare regimen will also be recommended to help prepare your skin to receive optimal results from your peel.

Recovering From a Chemical Peel

The type of chemical peel you receive and your skin type will determine the downtime. For lighter peels, the skin may peel lightly or flake approximately 2 days after the treatment. Optimal results generally occur 5-7 days after your peel. Light chemical peels are recommended monthly to maintain a fresh glow.

During the recovery period for any peel, you will follow a skincare regimen customized for your skin type to promote quicker healing and extended results. During the initial recovery period after a peel, you will want to avoid sun exposure.
