Laser Hair Removal

Our Sciton ClearScan Yag system allows us to treat dark ethnic skin safely with minimal risk of burning and discoloration. Treatments are tolerated well, with little or no discomfort with our chilled handpiece.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels promote cell turnover to produce smoother and clearer skin. A liquid acid solution is gently applied to the skin’s surface to activate the turnover process during this quick treatment. Peels are available in varying strengths, so a higher percentage of acid will target a deeper area of the skin’s top layer. The goal is to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, minimize enlarged pores, and help lighten areas with increased pigmentation.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion consists of using medical-grade crystals to lightly slough off the top layer of skin while a small wand gently vacuums the crystals, dead skin cells, oil, and surface debris away. A series of treatments help improve overall skin texture creating healthier, glowing skin. This enables skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin and allows makeup to go on smoother and look flawless.
Dermal Fillers
Juvederm and Restylane dermal filler products are hyaluronic acid (HA) – based injectable gels that improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles to help restore more youthful contours to the face. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin that binds and absorbs water and is plentiful in young skin. Aging and UV rays from the sun reduce the amount of HA we produce, causing the skin to lose structure and volume, resulting in deep folds and wrinkles. Juvederm and Restylane dermal fillers diminish the appearance of these deep folds and wrinkles by restoring HA to the skin.
Botox Cosmetics
Botox Cosmetic is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market and is considered a quick “lunchtime” treatment since it only takes 15 minutes, and you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medication that relaxes the dominant muscles that can cause wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows (glabella), temporarily diminishing their appearance.
BBL Photorejuvenation
Photorejuvenation is used to achieve healthier skin and an even complexion by improving skin tone and reducing redness, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine wrinkles, and enlarged pores. At Schaumburg Dermatology, our preferred photorejuvenation system is Sciton’s BBL™ Broadband Light technology, a more advanced method of delivering intense pulse light, utilizing two flash lamps instead of one found in traditional IPL systems.

We utilize the Exilis Elite as a great non-invasive solution for reducing wrinkles in aging skin, with fewer treatments than many of the past popular tissue tightening technologies. Though not a replacement for surgical candidates, the Exilis Elite is a great option to address the early signs of aging by remodeling collagen with no downtime.
